Discover the art of teapot making during this inspiring workshop, ideal for anyone who wants to create functional ceramics with attention to form, balance, and detail.
During this workshop, you will create a teapot with matching cups, from initial design to final execution. We will explore the specific challenges of teapot making, such as crafting a well-pouring spout, a properly fitting lid, and achieving a harmonious balance between form and function. Aesthetics and usability go hand in hand.
The workshop is led by Sigrid, for whom teapots are a true specialty. Her work is exhibited and sold in Japan — a unique source of knowledge and experience that she is happy to share with you. Throughout the workshop, she will guide you step by step, ensuring that both advanced participants and motivated beginners feel well supported.
There is ample room for experimentation, personal expression, and refinement, with attention to traditional influences and contemporary interpretations. You will learn techniques that can be immediately applied to your own work and gain insight into the complete process of creating a well-functioning teapot.
After the course, a shared glazing session will be scheduled in consultation with the participants, based on everyone’s availability. An additional €35 per person will be charged for the glazing session.
